GLOBAL MOVIE NIGHTS SHOWCASES MONTHLY MOVIES TO INFORM, MOTIVATE, AND MOVE PEOPLE TO PLANT-BASED EATING AND ADVOCACY
Showcasing First Movie on Monday, February 5th with The Game Changers!
January 12, 2024 — On the first Monday of each month, Global Movie Nights, an international plant-based food initiative, is asking individuals to share plant-based eating and lifestyle films on a monthly basis with their friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, and acquaintances to educate millions around the globe of the importance of plant-based eating for health, climate, the environment, social justice, equity, and animal cruelty.
Global Movie Nights was founded by Kim Anderson, the founder of Plant City, the world’s first plant-based food hall and the world’s largest vegan restaurant, located in Providence RI. Anderson has been an advocate and spokesperson for plant-based eating ever since her son had she and her husband watch a few films around the topic. It was a moment of awakening that changed their understanding, outlook, and lives overnight, and led her to create and open Plant City. You can learn more about her story on YouTube.
On the first Monday of each month, Global Movie Nights will suggest a powerful and relevant film that will educate millions of people around the world about the benefits of plant-based eating. The business model and gesture is simple and uses the power of community, connection, and education to better understand via compelling story telling and conversation how plant-based eating affects health and healthcare, our climate and environment, social justice and equity, and animal cruelty.
QUOTE 1
There is no doubt in my mind and heart that many of us feel the urgency to show the positive results of plant-based eating, explains Kim Anderson, founder of the initiative and movement. Every day we see the proof that plant-based eating is better for our health, animals, and the planet. Our mission is to help others experience their own moment of awakening and become advocates for plant-based eating.
QUOTE 2
Imagine if millions of individuals watch movies that can change their lives, the life of the planet, and animals, explains Anderson. Honestly, we can do this together and make a positive social impact on multiple levels. Our goal is to make ‘24 the year we build the Global Movie Nights initiative so big that we tip the scales and get people super excited to share stories that touch people and makes them want to act for the benefit of all.
HOW TO HOST IS EASY AS 1-2-3
Host
Over-invite for the number of people you feel comfortable hosting in your home, office, club, etc. We know more people than we think we do. Keep it super simple by sending our evite graphic. The day before your showing, send a nice reminder that you are looking forward to seeing them.
Watch
Put out food or not—a plate with grapes or popcorn or nothing at all. Don’t let this be the thing that prevents you from sharing! Watch the film together in a comfortable space.
Share
Comment on our Instagram feed that you are hosting, how easy it was, how many joined you, and some of the testimonials after they see the film. Your share may make others feel comfortable also sharing in the future! Take pride in being part of a movement that can hasten our move to a just, sustainable, and cruelty free food system!
